Esslingen Escape ‘The Paracelsus Mystery’

Outdoor Escape Game – Scavenger Hunt
Get to know Esslingen in a different way – the city rally/outdoor escape game takes you past all the sights.
When Paracelsus was writing his famous work ‘Labyrinthus Medicorum’ in 1531, he was living in Esslingen.
Before his departure, one of these handwritten manuscript pages slipped unnoticed behind a crack in the wall panelling that was being worked on at the time. Now, during renovation work, the wall panelling was opened and the page was found intact. It was to be exhibited as a new attraction in Esslingen.
But ‘The Gambler’ was quicker and got hold of this gem.
He gives the city two hours to compete against him, solve his riddles and regain the manuscript page.
Will you succeed?
This game takes you to many of Esslingen’s sights and, along the way, you get to know this beautiful city.
This game does not require a game master on site. At the start of the game, you will receive the first puzzle by email. This is the beginning of a chain of tasks, at the end of which, hopefully, the valuable book will be saved…
There are no ‘funny photo tasks’ or similar to complete, but rather a series of puzzles to solve.

- Please remember to wear good shoes as you will have to walk about 2 km, and bring rain protection and sun protection.
- Something to drink would also be helpful.
- You will also need an internet-enabled smartphone with GPS receiver and Google Maps (or similar)

From 8 people, we recommend splitting the group and starting at different times (additional €20)

Once you have solved a task, click on the coat of arms at the bottom and then enter the solution. If it is correct, it will take you to the next task … Otherwise, you will have to keep puzzling.
If you need help, you will find it at the bottom of the page.
Please make sure you use the correct upper and lower case letters and that your Caps Lock key is deactivated.
If you want to read the task again, simply press the ‘Back’ button. You can also find the page with the puzzle under your tabs, or jump there using the emergency navigation (tasks). However, you will then have to use the previous password again to open this page.
If you need a hint, you will find it below each puzzle.
You can then simply close the hints and return to the puzzle.
In the start email that you received with your booking confirmation, you will find the starting point of your tour and a hint about the code for the first puzzle.
